It's been a WHILE that I haven't sent out my monthly newsletter - a long while. Such a long while that I'm sure many, if not most of you, may have no idea who I am at this point (and feel free to unsubscribe if you want, haha) so allow me to reintroduce myself.

I'm Kimmie - a travel blogger. You must have landed on my site at one point while searching for travel information and subscribed to my newsletter. Thanks for that. I'm planning to become more regular in sending out newsletters, travel inspo, recent posts, travel deals, and more like I used to, so I appreciate any of you who stick around.

Pakistan Group Trip

If you follow me on social media, you will surely now know that I just came back from a truly incredible 3 weeks in Pakistan. I have traveled a LOT in my life - full-time and 80+ countries for 10 years - but I can honestly say nothing has left me feeling as warm and fuzzy and deeply changed as this group trip to Pakistan.

It has a lot to do with the intensity of the trip and how many challenging yet beautiful moments and views left indelible marks on my perspective. It had a lot to do with how close the group got and how much fun we had, from hiking tall mountains to sitting on 8-hour bus journeys together, and unplugging from the internet a lot of the time to be truly in the moment in remote, rugged, and unexplainably picturesque places.

A Brief Life Update

I haven't sent an email in over a year - wow. Oops! It's probably because I became accustomed to constantly doing way too much - which is something I am working on! It's quite hard to summarize a whole year into a few paragraphs, but let's just say a lot has happened.

I traveled full time yet again, from Melbourne to a jam-packed 3 month USA road trip last fall (like so fast paced we got VERY burnt out), a month in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, a month in Medellin, a conference in Georgia and travels in the other Caucasus countries too (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan), a conference in Berlin, 6 weeks solo in Cape Town (my favorite city in the world) before some group travels in South Africa and a trip to Afrikaburn. I did another conference in the Basque Country of Spain, a festival in Albania, and a few weeks of my Croatia sailing company, Fjaka Sail, before - phew - MOVING TO BALI.

Yes, after nearly 10 years on the road, I finally settled into a home base. But that's not all.

Back in March, Google announced some updates to their algorithm that basically decimated my blog, which is my main job and income source that was previously doing really well. A few weeks after getting back to Bali together, my partner Eliot and I broke off our 5.5 year relationship. So... you can say my life, as I know it, is kinda disintegrating around me.

It has been hard but have high hopes that better things are on the way for me, maybe a career pivot, or time to make new businesses out of some ideas I have. But only time will tell! The Pakistan trip couldn't have come at a better time for me, and I have been focusing on living more slowly and recalibrating in Bali.

And that's where I'm at now! I have an amaaaazing little villa to myself and a great group of friends. I don't have too much world travel on the agenda for now (except going home for Xmas and Mexico for a wedding in January), but for the first time in my life... I like it that way. <3

I still have SOOO MUCH global content to catch up on, make videos about, and write about, and some new things on the horizon. So... I suppose I'll just have to let you know!
