Five Things You Didn't Know About Pakistan

Hey! It's me, Kimmie, and this is your monthly email about my Pakistan group trip this October.

This month, rather than trying futher to convince you how great of a time you will have and how incredible of an experience it is to visit, I'll tell you a few things you may not have known before about Pakistan.

Fun Facts About Pakistan

  1. Pakistan is the 5th most populous country in the world, with over 250 million people. Only India, China, the USA, and Indonesia have more population than Pakistan, but Pakistan is significantly the smallest of the top 5 - giving it a much higher population density. However, most of the population is concentrated in the main cities.
  2. The Region of Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan is where the 3 tallest mountains ranges in the world meet - the Hindu Kush, the Himalayas, and the Karakorum. We visit this exact site and yes, it's spectacular (photo below). Each range has peaks over 7000 + 8000 meters - many of which we can lay our own eyes on. We can see K2, the second tallest mountain in the world at 8611 meters, from the plane.
  3. Pakistan had the first elected female leader of a Muslim majority country, Benazir Bhutto (may she rest in peace), in 1988 and in parts of the 90's.
  4. A majority of the world's soccer balls are made in one Pakistani city - Sialkot - which has over 1000 factoriesfor international distribution. Despite this, soccer still comes second in popularity to cricket.
  5. Pakistan has many 'highest in the world' wins. It can claim the world's highest paved international road (the Karakorum highway, which we drive a lot), the world's highest border crossing (with China), the world's highest ATM (at 4693m/15400 ft), and probably more! Yep, the elevation here is impressive.

I hope at least one of these impressed you!

If you are at all interested in the trip this October, I hope you will reply to this email and start the convo to see if this trip may be right for you.

I see many of you clicking the link every time I send an email, but not saying anything... go on, dont be shy! Send me a DM on instagram if that's easier.

I am genuinely so excited to be able to bring a group of people back to experience the incredible trip to PK I took last year. I hope one of them can be you!

My life update: here in Bali it's Nyepi this weekend, or the Balinese Hindu new year which begins with a whole island shutdown and 'silent day.' After being a bit too busy in the last few months, I'm looking forward to a more quiet weekend of reflection, myself.

I hope you also have a wonderful end of the month full of reflection or whatever is needed in your life :) xoxo, Kimmie

Hello There! This is Kimmie popping back into your inbox for your monthly Pakistan update and reminder to keep my group trip in mind for this October.
