5 Mind-Blowing Sights in Pakistan (You Can See in October)

Hello There!

This is Kimmie popping back into your inbox for your monthly Pakistan update and reminder to keep my group trip in mind for this October.

You may have heard about a brief moment of tension between Pakistan and its neighbor, India. I was worried, too, but the tour company is always keeping a close eye on the situation and the safety of guests is, of course, paramount.

All is going ahead this October 1-13th despite a brief moment of tension with India during an election cycle, but there has been a ceasefire already 🙏🏼 Although we go close, none of the affected areas are on our travel itinerary.

With that said, below, I'll be sharing 5 of the most mind-blowing sights to see in Northern Pakistan. As always, reply to this email with any questions or let me know if you'd like to hop on a call about the trip!

Attabad Lake

This ice-blue lake is one of the most stunning views we visit after a short hike - only an hour or so! Minimum effort for maximal reward, here.

The Lake is actually super blue because of glacial minerals in the water. But there's a darker story here - the lake actually formed due to a landslide creating a dam that blocked river flow, submerging the town of Attabad in 2010. But they have made the most of it by creating mor tourist areas around the lake, including local boat rides which we also do.

Passu Bridge

Known as ' the most dangerous bridge in the world' (you can be the judge of that!), the Passu bridge was loosely constructed by locals who needed a way to cross a long river valley.

As you can see, the steps are all about a foot apart and the wires are loose, but trust you'll never get an adrenaline rush like this one ever again (or with as epic of views).

Nanga Parbat - the 9th Tallest Mountain in the World

Sure, we could hike up a more famous mountain like K2, but on this trip we prefer to stay on the road less traveled and have more space all to ourselves!

Nanga Parbat is an absolutely incredible 8000m+ mountain (there are only 14 above 8000m in the world - most are in this area). It's also known as the deadlist mountain in the world because more people have tried to climb it and not come back than any other mountain!

But on the group trip luckily we just hike to base camp at about 4000m, and stay in this lovely area of Fairy Meadows where you can see debatably the most amazing reflection in the world, too.

Karimabad + Hunza Valley

Karimabad is the adorable town located at the confluence of the world's 3 tallest mountain ranges - the Hindu Kush, the Karakorum, and the Himalayas. Because of the vst amount of pressure in the area, you can find dozens of kinds of precious stones and crystals (at an amazing price). They also have local pashminas, crafted jewelry, and so much more.

Once you're done shopping, there are, of course, many hikes in the area. We do one where you end up at a viewpoint where you can see 17 of the tallest mountain peaks in the world, at the same time. Pray for a clear day!

Himalayas from the Plane

There are so many views to choose from, but I couldn't leave out the absolutely INCREDIBLE views from the plane we will take back to the city from the mountains. This bird's eye view will truly allow you to feel the true expanse of the mountains up here - unlike anything else in the world and worth seeing by everyone!

That's it for now, alhought I listed 20 of the top sights on my recent instagram post.

Finally ready to join? Hit 'reply' and we can get the ball rolling! Here's the info page again if you'd like to have another look.

Have a wonderful May and chat next month!
